A degree of success: Fairfield University graduates told ‘The world needs you’ at ceremony

Katherine Lapp, who graduated from the University in 1978, reminded the graduates of all the horrors and real life problems they have witnessed in the last decade including the terrorist attacks on 9/11, two wars, a major U.S. city disappearing under water as a result of Hurricane Katrina, the increased threat of climate change and the world’s economy taking its greatest plunge since the Great Depression… “The world you are inheriting is not without challenge, but in that challenge lays endless possibilities and a call to action,” said Lapp, one of four people to receive honorary degrees during the 60th commencement exercises.
