Veteran working for veterans

The hope is that nurses who have received their training there will be more inclined to work in VA hospitals after graduation, according to Mary Murphy, APRN, who teaches pharmacology at Fairfield and the VA hospital… Jeanne Novotny, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, dean of the School of Nursing, said the faculty includes numerous Fairfield University alumni, nurses with decades of experience, some who have worked for the best hospitals in the region, as well as many who have cared for veterans at VA hospitals. “Their impressive range of expertise is helping the School of Nursing realize its mission to give students a comprehensive nursing education, one that addresses all aspects of patient care, from cardiac care, critical care, women’s health, and elder care.”
