Tango Buenos Aires to bring ‘Fire & Passion’ to Fairfield
Everybody hankers for a huge hug from time to time… “As humans, we all look for warmth” and affection, which is celebrated in the tango’s sensuous body-to-body movements. “…in Argentina, they call the tango the dance of one animal with four legs…” Featuring 10 dancers, the company is on a three-month cross-country tour that concludes at the end of March following visits to about 70 cities. On Saturday, Feb. 19, at 8 p.m., Tango Buenos Aires…comes to Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts to belatedly celebrate the Valentine’s Day holiday for lovers with the “Fire and Passion of Tango,” accompanied by the group’s own five-piece orchestra.
