Fairfield U gains an operating room, sort of

Fairfield University’s School of Nursing has been awarded a $446,856 federal grant – one of its largest ever – to build a state-of-the-art mock operating room. The simulation operating room will be used by graduate students in the university’s Master of Science and Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia programs, giving them an anesthesia simulation laboratory. The idea is to will allow nurse anesthetist students to learn risk free before going out to care for real patients in clinical rotations.
