Remembering 9/11: State, towns plan commemorative events

Fairfield University will commemorate 9/11 with a series of events during the week to honor the 14 alumni who died in the attacks. Beginning on Wednesday and continuing through Sunday, there will be a Circle of Remembrance at the Barone Campus Center Traffic Circle. Students, faculty and staff are being invited to leave their thoughts and remembrances written on postcards that will be provided on “Reflection Walls” set up on campus. On Thursday at 4 p.m., “Remembering 9/11: An Interfaith Prayer Service” will take place at 42 Bellarmine on the southwest corner of the campus. Sponsoring the service are the Carl & Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies, the Office of Mission and Identity, and the Center for Catholic Studies.
